Meet The Founder
My name is Mathew Leonhardt, founder of Hardtwood Deck Builders. I started my business with a vision to bridge the gap between expert engineering and beautiful backyard designs. My goal is to bring a higher standard of care, structural integrity, and craftsmanship to local homeowners. Whether you want a relaxing space for family barbecues or a premium custom build, we ensure every project is designed safely, built beautifully, and crafted to last a lifetime.
My Story
I grew up working alongside my father in construction from a very young age, where I learned the value of hard work and building things right the first time. That hands-on experience inspired me to dive deeper into the field, leading to a Civil Engineering degree from the University of Toronto.
After gaining valuable experience managing large-scale highway projects down in Texas, I decided to return home to start a family and launch my own company. Hardtwood Decks allows me to combine my technical engineering background with my love for landscape construction, all while providing and building a beautiful life for my family.
My goal is simple: to bring top-notch quality, honest craftsmanship, and high standards to every property we touch.
